E&I Cooperative Services Awards Contract for Indoor Air Quality & HVAC Services to Pure Air Control Services

Facilities Cooperative Contract for IAQ and HVAC

Competitively solicited contract offers E&I members services to improve building health, occupant comfort, and energy efficiency in educational facilities.

Clearwater, FL – Pure Air Control Services has been awarded a new competitively solicited contract for indoor air quality (IAQ) and HVAC maintenance services with E&I Cooperative Services (E&I). E&I members in higher education and K-12 can now procure IAQ testing, laboratory, and remediation services to quickly minimize risk or escalation in this area of facilities maintenance.

E&I had previously made these IAQ services available through a lead public agency (LPA) contract held by Pure Air Control Services with Atlanta Public Schools. After a rigorous and competitive solicitation process, Pure Air Control Services has been awarded a new direct contract. E&I contract CRN01488 is currently active and expires in 2024. Contract highlights include:

• Experienced & certified indoor air and environmental testing
• Detailed, easy to understand reporting
• Proprietary HVAC cleaning and restoration
• Extensive background in the education marketplace
• Locked-in price ceiling, but flexible depending on project phasing or scope
• Certified Minority Business Enterprise

Pure Air Control Services brings a turn-key approach to working with architects, consultants, engineers and institutional facility staff to resolve indoor air quality issues quickly and efficiently.

“We are grateful to continue our relationship with E&I as a supplier of long-established and innovative IAQ services,” says Alan Wozniak, President of Pure Air Control Services, “Like E&I, we endeavor to streamline processes for their members to realize fiscal and time savings on the way to a healthier learning environment and energy efficiency.”

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) reports that 1 in 6 people who suffer from allergies/asthma do so because of bacteria and fungi distributed by an HVAC system. The CDC also reports that asthma is responsible for more than 10 million missed school days per year. HVAC system and ductwork cleanliness directly affects the well-being and productivity of staff, facility, and students, and if not properly maintained and managed, building health issues may lead to problems legally and financially.

“No matter the size or type of institution, educational facilities need to be creative in balancing their operational budgets, and oftentimes that means solving complex challenges regarding preventative maintenance programs,” said Tom Fitzgerald, CEO of E&I. “Offering our members the important services provided by an industry expert such as Pure Air means helping them strategically tackle these critical, health-driven hurdles while ultimately saving time and money.”

Cooperative purchasing saves member institutions time and money over procuring services through their own competitive solicitation process, which can take 60-90 days from writing the RFQ, to awarding the contract, to the commencement of work. Utilizing E&I’s Pure Air Control Services contract is extremely helpful to address an emergency situation that requires immediate action.
