Pure Air Control Services Inc., will be at the 2017 Florida School Plant Managers Association (FSPMA) Conference to discuss how focusing on Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) can lead to improving the health, comfort and energy efficiency of schools statewide.
Orlando, FL – The FSPMA Conference originally scheduled for September, is now set to take place October 23-26 at Caribe Royal. Founded in 1960, the FSPMA has a 3-point mission statement. The third objective in their ethos reads, “to promote the professional advancement of school plant maintenance, operation, safety, energy management, and environment.” To that end Pure Air Controls will present classroom sessions and demonstrate beneficial IAQ services at this year’s conference.
Among the educational sessions for Florida school plant managers will be topics on Legionella and HVAC Hygiene through steam coil cleaning and restoration services.
On Tuesday, October 24 at 10:00 a.m. in room Boca 4, Dr. Rajiv Sahay director of Environmental Diagnostics Laboratory at Pure Air Control Services, Inc. will give an in-depth presentation titled Legionella: Diagnostics to Detection. This session will cover ASHRAE Standard 188 and how to keep a school facility safe from an outbreak.
Immediately following at 11:00 a.m. will be a detailed look at HVAC maintenance called PURE-Steam Coil Cleaning: The Hot New Thing. Presented by IAQ Solutions Consultant Frank Santini, this breakout session will examine the differences between conventional chemical rinse cleaning method compared to the environmentally friendly, Green Clean Institute certified PURE-Steam method. The workshop will discuss both the IAQ efficacy and energy savings provided by this method, citing studies from the Continental Automated Building Association, Florida State University and Georgia Tech University. It will also briefly cover the cost benefits of hygienically restoring aging HVAC equipment.
At Pure Air Control’s booth 85/86 attendees will be able to see video of the PURE-Steam process, as well as an interactive demonstration with a real coil that shows improvements in airflow from the steam cleaning.
The Pure Air Control’s team will also be available to help navigate easy, no bid, procurement options through a variety of contracts they hold with different cooperative purchasing partners. These partners include E&I Educational & Institutional Cooperative Purchasing, PAEC Panhandle Area Education Consortium with their Florida Buy Program, and TIPS The Interlocal Purchasing System.
The full 2017 Annual Florida Schools Plant Managers Association (FSPMA) Conference runs from Monday, October 23 through Thursday, October 26, with the exhibition taking place October 24 and 25 at Caribe Royale, 8101 World Center Drive, Orlando, Florida.
